Emergency Department

If you need emergency assistance, please dial 911.

We hope that you'll never need emergency medical care, but if you do, Schuyler Hospital’s emergency staff is here for you … 24 hours a day, every day.

Our emergency department (ED) treats more than 9,400 patients annually. We're committed to providing our community with the highest level of emergency care. Our specially trained staff includes Board Certified Emergency Medical providers, nurses, and technicians who use state-of-the-art equipment and procedures for diagnosis and treatment.

Schuyler Hospital staffs our Emergency Department with providers who have extensive urgent care, emergency room, or intensive care experience. Staff works to provide quality, efficient care for patient satisfaction.

Please note our procedures:

Self Check-in

When you arrive at the Emergency Department, you will begin your visit with a self check-in process. After completing this form, you will take the paper to the registration desk. The registration staff will complete the pre-registration process. Once pre-registration is done, the registration staff will walk your papers to the Emergency Department, alerting staff of your need to be seen.

Bedside Triage

When a bed is available, the nurse will take you directly into a patient treatment room. Here the nurse will begin your care by completing the triage assessment. After triaging, the nurse will promptly notify the healthcare provider of your arrival.

Once you have been seen by a provider, the unit clerk will complete your registration process. It is important to supply your most current address and phone numbers, as well as the name of a contact person.

In an emergency, Schuyler Hospital is committed to providing you and your family with safe, efficient and timely healthcare.
